China home appliance online B2C market reaches 2.12 billion RMB
According to the China home appliance online B2C market research report released by iresearch, China has witnessed a 177% dramatic increase in home appliance online B2C market, reached 2.12 billion RMB in 2009. B2C online shopping only accounts for 18.7% of home appliance ecommerce, however, the growth rate of home appliance B2C online shopping will far exceed the growth rate of C2C in the next few years.
With the explosive growth, it is estimated that the total market value for home appliance B2C ecommerce will hit 20 billion RMB by 2013.
360buy leading the tough competition
According to iresearch report, third party B2C home appliance trade platform has a 1.66 billion RMB yearly trade volume in 2009, out of the 2.12 billion RMB total market volume, among which, 360buy.com, as the industry leader, accounts for 38.6% market share. Followed by Taobao.com with 16.7% market share. Niche player like 51mdq.com has 9.8% market share.
The competition for home appliance B2C online shopping market will only become tougher in the coming years, as the C2C leader taobao.com has introduce a platform for home appliance B2C ecommerce and home appliance chain store like Gome, Suning also are actively preparing to launch their own online shopping platforms.
