Baidu Phoenix Nest replace Baidu Classic on December 2009

Baidu.com Inc announced today that their Baidu professional edition(Baidu Phoenix program) will officially take over Baidu Classic edition(Baidu bidding rank) since Dec 1st 2009. The instant success of Baidu Phoenix Nest program gives Baidu management team the confidence to speed up the transition from Baidu Classic to Baidu Phoenix Nest.

Baidu Phoenix is welcomed by vast advertisers, according to research by Baidu.com. The third quarter revenue of baidu.com has reached 1.28 billion RMB, a 39.1% increase compared with the same period last year. The net income of third quarter nearly hit 500 million RMB, which has increased 41.7%. The financial success partly contribute to the successful launch of Baidu Phoenix Nest program in April 2009.

Within half year of release of Baidu Phoenix, 70% advertiser has moved their advertising campaign from Baidu classic edition to professional edition.

Baidu has been criticized by search users for selling the top 10 organic search results to advertisers, which deteriorate the search quality and in the long term, will harm the development of Baidu.com.
